What we collect

Account and waitlist. When you join the waitlist or log in we store your email address, your language, the role you picked (brand, agency or partner), the website you checked if any, and a referral code if you arrived through a partner link. We send login codes to your email; we never ask for a password.

Free AI check. When you run a check we store the brand, website, category, market and competitors you entered, the AI answers we received and the results of a public check of your website (robots.txt, llms.txt, homepage tags). We store a one-way hash of your IP address to limit free checks. We don't store your IP address itself.

Cookies. We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in, and a small flag that tells the page you're logged in. No advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. Your browser may also store your report links and a referral code locally.

How we use it

To show your reports, send login codes, Boldcite updates and your early access invitation, pay partner commissions, and prevent abuse of the free check. We don't sell your data and we don't share it with advertisers.

Who processes it

The website you enter and the questions about your category are sent to the AI provider that answers the check (for example OpenAI, Google or Perplexity) through their official API. Emails are sent through our email provider.

How long we keep it

Account and waitlist data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Check results are kept for up to 12 months. Login codes expire after 10 minutes and sessions after 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data at any time, or leave the waitlist, by writing to hello@boldcite.com. If you're in the EU or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
